Who am I? – ¼ leadership specialist, ¼ investor and non-executive director, ¼ writer and podcaster and ¼ professional chef.
I have spent my entire career demystifying and implementing the "Next Big Thing": be it privatisation, European expansion, electronic business, or the rise of China as an economic giant. I have worked as a consultant and operator in over 40 countries across industries, from large family-owned businesses to blue chips like PwC, global banks, luxury groups or engineering and packaging.
My love of learning and sharing eventually led me to a fulfilling career in leadership development and executive coaching. Very quickly I focused on cross-cultural dimensions and 'leading difference': getting the best out of people who are different from you, whatever the difference.
After about 20 years, I started to work on my clients' emerging themes: preparing the next phase of their life – the next 30 years. As always, we looked at the best research available, developed our own tools and tested them thoroughly before offering them to corporates and individuals.
Because meaning is important when preparing this future, I am keen to be involved and keep learning. I am now cooking one day a week for the wonderful people at the South Norwood Community Kitchen.
Finally I have hosted the podcast Leadership Recipes for two seasons and am putting the finishing touches to my third book: It Doesn't Have To Be Like This...
