Averil Leimon

Leadership psychologist, executive coach, author, public speaker

I have worked with senior leaders for over three decades, helping them unlock their potential and achieve lasting change.

Trained in Cognitive Behavioural and Positive Psychology, I challenge established thinking, uncover hidden assumptions and help people recognise and use their strengths. My approach combines rigorous psychological understanding with commercial experience, enabling clients to turn insight into meaningful action.

I have worked across a wide range of sectors, including banking and finance, oil and gas, construction and the BBC. I am known for my ability to challenge, inspire and help talented people make significant changes, both professionally and personally.

As I have observed my clients trajectories and successes, my interest has turned to their next phase . My particular interest is helping senior people make the most of the next 30 years of their lives: navigating the transition beyond corporate leadership and creating a fulfilling, purposeful and successful next chapter.

I am co-editor of Routledge's Essential Coaching series, comprising around 25 titles. I co-authored Essential Business Coaching and Coaching Women to Lead (now in its second edition), and Coaching and Mentoring For Dummies and Positive Psychology For Dummies. Books are a passion and in my spare time I am running Bookheath a local book festival in south London, encouraging delight in the written word for all ages.
